Tagaytay is always a favorite weekend destination for families wanting to escape the summer heat in Metro Manila. While you can easily visit on a day trip, you can also extend your trip and stay overnight so you can have more time to go around, try new restaurants, or just enjoy the cooler weather.
During our last trip to Tagaytay in March 2023 to do the Taal Lake Bike Loop, we stayed a couple of nights at View Park Hotel, an elegant yet affordable boutique hotel.
We first came across the hotel last year while drinking in Siglo Brew, a cafe within the premises that serves local coffee and craft beer and liked the vibe, so we bookmarked the place for our next stay.
Established in 2007, View Park Hotel Tagaytay offers a charming mix of Asian and Neo-Italian architecture and interiors. Upon comparing rates to other popular hotel properties in Tagaytay, the rooms seemed generally affordable for 2 pax, and the place had a cozier and romantic vibe compared to the usual hotels.

Location
Getting to Tagaytay is usually about a two-hour drive from Metro Manila. View Park Hotel is conveniently situated across Tagaytay Picnic Grove, offering easy access to the city’s most famous tourist spots and dining options.
Rated as a 3 star-hotel, the property provides guests with access to massage, restaurant, and spa on-site.
Klook.comRooms
View Park Hotel has several room types including standard, premier, and junior suite, and more in the main building and annex, with the annex rooms slightly cheaper. We booked a a premier room in the main building (24 sqm), which comes with complimentary breakfast for two, Wi-Fi, complimentary bottled water, slippers, hot and cold shower, bath tub in selected rooms, room safe, fridge/minibar, and welcome drink.
The standard room usually starts at P3,000 for 2 pax per while premier rooms start at P3,800 per night based on their website rates, but I got the room at a discounted rate through Agoda and only had to pay about P2,500 a night. (Book here).
The room we stayed in was cozy and comfortable with personalized touches that made it stand out from the usual hotel rooms. It had all the basics you need from a hotel room and a very spacious bathroom.
The annex, a modern building at the back of the main hotel complex, has larger rooms for families. The hotel also offers family rooms good for 10 for P10,000 and 20 pax for P20,000 per night or P1,000 per head.
For those who want a more luxurious stay, the hotel also offers an executive suite (P6,800 for 2 pax) and Presidential Suite (P12,000 for 2 pax).
Swimming Pools
View Park Hotel has two swimming pools on the premises. There’s a small pool right next to the cafe and al fresco lounge area.
A larger pool is located in front of the main annex building. Despite the cooler weather in Tagaytay, it can still get pretty hot during the summer months, so having a pool to cool down in the mornings is always welcome.
Dining
View Park Hotel has a couple of on-site restaurants and serves complimentary breakfast, which you can take in the comfort of your rooms or in the poolside area. The choices were the usual assortment of American Breakfast (Bacon with Eggs and toast), Tapislog, Corned Beef, and more.
The main restaurant Siglo Modern Filipino Restaurant serves Filipino and Asian staples for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
For lunch before checking out, we dined at the main restaurant and tried the Crispy Tilapia and Poqui Poqui (a smoky eggplant dish from the Ilocos region). Both were pretty good and priced reasonably as far as Tagaytay prices go.
In case you’re on a workation, Siglo Cafe offers a great spot to catch up on work. During afternoons, you can try local coffee from different parts of the Philippines, pastries, and desserts.
At night, the veranda area offers a laid-back spot to enjoy the mountain breeze with craft beer and light bar chow. They offer beer flights and regular glasses of specialty brews including Taal IPA, Pinya Cream Ale, Sinag Pilsner, Barako Stout and some savory snacks.
View Park Hotel served as a good base for our Tagaytay staycation. From here, we were able to access the lakeside towns of Taal more easily for our bike trip. We also were able to check out some new dining spots like Papa Bolo, a new brewery in the area. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.
I liked the vibe of the place. It didn’t feel too crowded like the bigger hotels in the area, and the hotel staff were very accommodating. I wouldn’t mind staying here again in the future with family or friends.
Parking
The hotel has a dedicated parking area next to the restaurant for a few cars, with a smaller and tighter parking area below for checked-in guests. Since we brought bikes on our trip, I appreciated the secure parking set-up. We just locked our bikes next to the living quarters of the guardhouse near the rooms.
How to book
You can reserve room stays directly on their website or book discounted rooms at View Park Hotel in Tagaytay via Agoda here.
