A couple of weeks ago, I guest rode with a group of bikers on their ride for a cause to Chosen Children Village, an orphanage in Silang, Cavite for mentally and/or physically challenged children. Aside from being a great early Holy Week ride (which later ended up in Tagaytay and Batangas) it was a very meaningful trip.
The images of the bikers pushing wheelchairs and helping to feed the kids is something I would have loved to take photos of. However, to protect their privacy, we weren’t allowed to take photos of the children, just the facilities. Spending time with the kids was enough. Most of the children in CCV were abandoned by their parents at birth because they couldn’t handle their special needs. It was inspiring to see the good rehabilitation and recreational facilities of the orphanage and how the kids are thriving. A lot of the older children help out and take care of the younger ones.
Here are a few photos from the trip.
Here’s a snapshot of me and Art on the road taken by Spike. My trusty Mio Fino was able to keep up with all the bad-ass cruisers. Till next ride!
Chosen Children Village is located at KM. 49, Aguinaldo Highway, Lalaan 2, 4118 Silang Cavite, Philippines. Visiting hours are from 8:30AM to 10:30AM and from 2:30PM to 4:30PM. For more information on donations and sponsorships, visit their website at www.chosenchildrenvillage.org
