Looking to buy your first bicycle or need repairs done? A lot of bikers usually head to Quiapo and Cartimar where bikes and bike parts are generally cheaper. But with the bike shortages everywhere, it might be better to just head to your local bike shop or LBS in your neighborhood. It may cost a little bit more, but this way if ever you need spare parts or repairs or maintenance done, at least you don’t have to travel too far to get it fixed by bike mechanics.
For residents of Quezon City and nearby areas, these are just a few of the bike shops that are currently open as of June 2020 (including safety measures in place with regards to COVID.)
Glorious Ride Bike Shop
Originally opened in 2010, Glorious Ride Bike Shop is our neighborhood go-to shop for all things bike-related. Their main warehouse is located along Kamias Road in Diliman, Quezon City, but they also have a branch in Regalado Highway Fairview. Glorious Ride has a wide selection of bicycles on stock—from mountain bikes, road and tri to TT, folding bikes, and even accessories like helmets, clothing, cycling shoes, and bike parts.
They carry big-name brands like Shimano, Merida, Specialized, and Cannondale to name a few. They also offer same day service for repairs and maintenance services and whiz mechanics can custom-build bikes, do tune-ups, quick fixes, installations, and even wash your bike while you wait. You can expect fast, efficient, and friendly service from store owner Carlo Clemente and his staff.
COVID Operations: Due to the high volume of inquiries and limited staff, they may not be able to respond at once online. No mask, no entry. Temperature checks and alcohol sprays are done by the gate for walk-in customers. They have a shaded waiting area in the garage with several chairs. For customers who can’t physically go to the store, they can get items delivered through the Pabili Service of Mr. Speedy (up to P1,500) purchase service of LalaMove (up to P2,000). For payments, they accept cash and credit cards (Visa & Mastercard).
