One of the major hassles of traveling are all the arrangements that need to be made beforehand. For those always on the go, the easiest way to book and pay for flights and hotels is to do it online. But in order to do this, you usually have to have a credit card. I think this immediately discourages some people from planning and booking trips. Some people just don’t have credit cards or would like to control their spending and not use it excessively. If you’re trying to stick to a certain budget, it helps to pay in cash so you don’t have to worry about future bills.
One of the reasons I like using Traveloka, a flight and hotel booking app to book my trips is because of its wide range of payment choices. While the Traveloka app allows users to pay via credit card or Paypal, you can also pay by online bank transfer, debit card, over the counter at banks, and even through 7-Eleven!
It’s pretty convenient to be able to pay for flights and hotels at any 7-Eleven branch nationwide. I absolutely hate waiting and lining up in banks especially when there are so many people and it’s so hard to catch their proper banking hours when you have work or are on a trip. Paying at a convenience store is just a better option. First of all, there’s a 7-Eleven branch almost anywhere around the Philippines. In fact, they have at least 2,000 branches from Luzon to Mindanao. Just walk down your neighborhood and you’re sure to come across a 7-Eleven or two. Plus, unlike banks, most 7-Eleven convenience stores are open 24 hours a day and even on weekends, so you can do all your last-minute travel arrangements easily.
After choosing your flight, just select 7-Eleven as your payment method. After completing your transaction, you’ll receive your payment instructions via email and on the app. Here’s how to do it:
- Head to a 7-Eleven branch near you. While you are there, just present your 7-CONNECT reference number for verification (you can get this from the emailed instructions and 7-11 as well as on the booking completion page).
- Wait for your booking confirmation email. Once you have paid for your booking, you will get your booking confirmation by email and through the app. After this, your flight or hotel room is good to go. All you have to do next is just check-in for your flight or hotel where your stay is scheduled.
I’ve personally used 7-Eleven to pay for flights to Davao for my trip to Bukidnon and used it again recently to pay for extra charges over a Travel voucher coupon I had for a flight to Romblon. There’s just a small service fee for paying this way compared to going to the bank or other payment methods, but it’s very minor.
Take note that the payment option expires after a certain period. You’re given only 2 hours to complete your transaction, so make sure you can get to a 7-Eleven before you try paying this way to avoid any problems. After finalizing my booking, I just scooted over to the nearest neighborhood 7-Eleven where I usually buy beer and chips. I just had to present the barcode on my phone to the cashier, which he promptly scanned and I paid the amount.
After paying, I immediately got a confirmation and email notification of my e-ticket. I’m now looking forward to a new solo backpacking trip to a province I haven’t been to yet this March!

Oh, you’re going to Romblon too! I haven’t tried paying by Pawnshop yet as I was afraid I might not find the proper branch and transaction fees seemed higher. 7-Eleven is definitely more convenient.

Hi John, maka-cancel yung booking if you’re not able to pay at once, but no penalty fee naman as far as I know.
Hi naka bayad na po ako sa 7eleven peru d ako naka recieve nang confirmation na completed na yung book flights ko ani gagawin?
Try niyo contact yung support ng Traveloka to inquire. Pero dapat may confirmation na agad yan by text and ipapadala na yung e-ticket through email right after payment.
