Honda Philippines, Inc., just launched today two new exciting motorcycles that will appeal to adventure riders as well as female riders. The All-New Honda ADV150 and the All-New GENIO combine innovation with style and function.
I got to do quick test-rides on the two new models during the event along with other motoring media. I’m sharing below some of the specs based on their press release and first impressions about these cool, new bikes.
All-New ADV150
The All-New ADV150, an adventure scooter, has been generating a lot of buzz in the motorcycle community the past few weeks. Based purely on looks alone, this bike looks really aggressive, sporty and stylish. For a 150-cc bike, it’s an eye-catcher and just stands out from the crowd.
Maporma talaga siya. It resembles the X-ADV, but is smaller and with a much more affordable price tag. The distinctive aspirational look of the ADV 150 is unlike any other scooter in its segment in the local market today. The model comes in two color variants: Winning Red and Mat-Meteorite Brown Metallic. Ang ganda ng red!
The motorcycle’s unique design and built-in features make it an ideal ride for those who love urban adventures. Motourism / traveling by motorcycle is becoming more popular in the country, and this bike just fits the bill of what adventure’s all about.
One of the unique features is the adjustable windscreen. The futuristic design goes hand-in-hand with the latest features of smart technology. This cool bike comes equipped with all-LED lighting system, full digital meter panel for clear riding information reading, power charger console box, 28L large utility box with seat stopper, naked handlebar and the Smart Key System.
The All-New ADV150 also has a 14-inch front tire size and 13-inch rear tire size as well as twin sub-tank rear suspension for a more comfortable ride. Built with safety in mind, the All-New ADV150 features an emergency stop signal (ESS) which automatically blinks the hazard light when sudden stop occurs and front and rear wavy disc brakes with 1 channel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) for a more stable braking system.
Since I’m used to driving smaller scooters, this bike felt slightly bulkier and heavier. The seat height was a bit high for me, but I could reach it on tiptoes. The seat height should be just right for average male riders. Compared to heavier adventure bikes I’ve tried, the ADV150 is pretty easy to use. You really feel the power, the moment you twist the throttle.
The test ride area was also a bit tight, but it was pretty smooth on the cornering. I’ve been using the Honda PCX the past week (separate bike review soon), which has roughly the same width and same engine base as the ADV150, and have found that it’s a bit trickier to ride in city traffic and park in tight spaces in malls because of the wide side fairings. This bike is best for weekend touring and long rides and not rush hour city traffic, so I’d love to test this out longer on the open road.
All-New Genio
Meanwhile, the All-New Genio seems to have designed specifically for female riders, a rising market in the country. As part of the unveiling, Honda announced welcomed their newest Female Brand Ambassador, Ms. Yassi Pressman.
The All-New GENIO is an innovative and stylish motorcycle that aims to give Filipinas a chance to experience the joy of riding. It kind of reminds me of my first scooter and has the look and feel of an e-bike, which makes it friendly and unintimidating for first-time / newbie riders. It’s kind of a leveled-up version of the Scoopy with more tech features that will appeal to younger riders.
With its chic design and features, the All-New GENIO aims to help solve the mobility concerns of female commuters. If you’re sick of lining up to ride the MRT or standing the whole way home in a bus packed like sardines, having your own personal scooter at your disposal that you can use to zip through the city will change your life. You’ll never have to rely on anyone to drop you off and fetch you. This is the best gift you can give yourself. For guys who want to encourage their girlfriends/wives to ride, this is a good introductory bike.
The All-New Genio comes equipped with smart technology and is enhanced smart power. It also has LED headlights and a digital meter panel with ECO indicator as well as a secure key shutter with seat opener. It has decent storage, with a 14L U-box capacity and features tubeless tires (so you don’t have to worry about getting flat tires) and an inner rack. It’s also equipped with a combi-brake system having a front disc brake and rear mechanical drum braking system.
In terms of size, this scooter is more appropriate for the body frame of average Pinays. It’s very light-weight and easy to handle without compromising the safety and comfort of the ride. For female riders who want something to use every day to go to school, to the office, for weekend dates, errands, and other socials, the All-new Genio is practical, stylish and budget-friendly.
I usually rent scooters when I travel and I see this as a fashionable bike that millennial travelers would like to rent (compared to the sportier Honda XRMs or Beats) in small islands in the Philippines like Siargao, Bohol and Siquijor.
The Honda Genio launched in the Philippines only comes in two color variants: White/Red and White/Blue. I think the color choices are a bit limited and feel too casual. I personally prefer the color options of the Genio released in Indonesia, which seem a bit more hip, classy and have more personality (in my opinion) and can appeal to a wider demographic of riders. Am hoping Honda Philippines will release other colors in the country too.
No cash on hand yet? There’s some time to save up! The two new models will be available at the Honda 3S Shops on December 2019 for The All-New GENIO with an SRP of Php72,900.00 and in January 2020 for The All-New ADV150, with an SRP of Ph149,000.00.

I’m 5.2 kasi, using a honda click 150i and the low seat is made useless dahil sa lapad ng footboard.
Hi John. I’m only 5″. Yeah, I had to sit forward sa seat para maabot ground. Stable naman yung bike and surprisingly lighter than it looks, very similar to PCX, but mas malapad siya which you’ll feel more while using in city traffic. Here’s another article with more pics of taller guys on the ADV150 for height reference.
Na try ko na din PCX, very comfy and ok siya for my height. As expected parang taller, slightly wider PCX. I’m guessing ok lang yung height niya for me dahil na kaya niyo naman po with your height and felt confident with it during the test ride. Can’t wait to see and sit on one next year.
Yes, sakto lang seat height for most of the guys who were test riding. Kind of surprised na ang aga ng launch since January 2020 pa actual release. Good luck! 🙂
Anong exact date po ng release ng Honda ADV150 nyo po at san lugar po puedeng kumuha ng motor n yn po… Interesado po ako, puede po bang magpareserve for cash po…
