The biggest entertainment convention is back, bigger, better, and bolder. Gathering all your favorite stars from History Asia Channel under one roof, History Con 2017 answers the question, “Huh?!?”
This place has everything: tanks, steampunk motorcycles, Lego, artisanal lambanog, a real life astronaut, people dressed up as Japanese soldiers walking around, Knight Rider’s car, craft beer, and none other than Takeru Kobayashi.
Takeru Kobayashi? He’s a professional competitive eater known for breaking the world record for eating 50 hotdogs in just 12 minutes who’s planning to stuff himself full of sisig because why not?
And wait, what’s that, is that 3B Custom’s hubless motorcycle with a tank full of holes in it?!
Ever wanted to drive a motorcycle over wooden planks or a bed of rocks? You can for FREE on no other than a Royal Enfield Himalayan! All that, and halls of over 400 booths designed specifically for history buffs, motorheads and geeks to just fork over all their cash.
SNL and Stefon reference aside, here’s a look at some of the scenes from the first day and media launch of History Con 2017. The event will run from 10-13 August 2017 at the World Trade Center, Hall A-C plus there’s a bonus “FYI Home & Living Fair” in Hall D.
There’s a lot to see here from the traditional, contemporary and popular culture including vintage toys, stamps, vinyl records, bicycles, knives, and much more. I’m zeroing in on the highlights for riders:
The possibility of running into Ride N’ Seek host Jaime Dempsey. A motorcade rally is scheduled on Sunday, August 13.
The largest automotive display of cars and motorbikes.
The best customized motorbike designs engineered by some of the most talented Filipino bike builders including garages like Ylagan Kustoms, 3B Customs, Iron Macchina, Tokwa Party Garage, STKD and more.
Booths selling vintage motorcycle gear, apparel and helmets.
Ride Along Motorcycle Tours booth (check out their tours)!
Don’t miss the chance to test out the Royal Enfield Himalayan in a specially designed Urban Assault obstacle course right in front of the World Trade Center! You can test ride the bike for free from 9am to 9pm from August 10-13.
Plus there are a lot of food and beverage stalls that you can enjoy including craft beer by Joe’s Brew and Nipa Brew.
Spotted these really astig looking drinks from Barik Supremo Lambanog (puro and ginger sour) and Second Son Cold Brew Coffee.
